What a great lesson, I learned as I turned 40 this past June. It’s to enjoy being me. I’m raising two little boys, I run multiple businesses, and in this life, you can get a little lost. Now I can sit with myself and carve out some time check in. I treat myself with compassion.
That may sound cheesy but health and wellness is an inside job. It’s all about how you feel about yourself. Exercise gives me energy, it balances my stress, and it makes me feel confident. It’s not just vanity and the physical benefit that I get; it runs deeper.
That’s something that I preach on social media and in my group that taking care of your-self feels really good.
I’m so over paying attention to what everyone else thinks. I know the people who matter to me. I value those opinions but what means the most is what I think about ME. That’s the one of the dangerous things about social media-especially for our young children. We’ve have bullies, haters, and negative comments and thoughts. You have to be able to figure out what matters and what don’t.
You can’t tell by looking at me, but I have Kidney Disease and I am going to keep eating healthy and working out and doing what is BEST for me, my health and my family. One day my kidneys will take over and then I’ll be summoned to a machine to get through the day so until then, I’m going to be ME and love every minute of it.
